Nordisk Film Summit in Copenhagen

On 31 March, UNIC took part in the Nordisk Film Summit. The event gathered all branches of Nordisk – production, distribution, exploitation. UNIC delivered a presentation about the future of the industry.

It was a pleasure to be in Copenhagen for Nordisk Film's Summit meeting, which gathered Nordisk colleagues from production, distribution and exhibition.

UNIC CEO Laura Houlgatte was invited to take part in a “Win in structural changes” session. She delivered a 15-minute set the scene, focusing on market and legislative changes across Europe.  Participants then broke into three different rotating working groups, with a focus on production, distribution and exhibition.

Opportunities and challenges were discussed. In production, competition for talents and differences between the business model of a film and the business model of a series were discussed. In distribution, the launch of the Nordisk Film OTT platform was touched upon, as well as audiences’ habits. In exhibition, enhancing the experience, engage effectively and securing supply of content was part of the discussion.

UNIC was then invited to visit Nordisk Film studios, founded in 1906.

Huge thanks to Nordisk colleagues for this great event!
