The convention kicked off on Monday, 27 October, with a focus on local talents, hosting the Screen Australia Filmmaker Masterclass.
On the morning of 28 October, Cameron Mitchell, Executive Director at Cinema Association Australasia, delivered the official welcome presentation to the guests. Later that morning, UNIC’s CEO Laura Houlgatte presented "An International Perspective" focusing on European cinema.
Other panels and presentations included "Embracing Self Service To Elevate The Moviegoing Experience”, “From Scroll to Screen: Winning the Fight for Attention and Global Perspectives”, Local Opportunities where Laura returned to the stage for a conversation with Kurt Rieder, Sr. VP, Theatrical Distribution (APAC) for Warner Bros.
At the heart of the AIMC were the extensive Distributor Presentations and film previews, showcasing the theatrical line-up for 2026.
The programme included presentations from all major studios through the Motion Picture Distributor Association of Australia (MPDAA), as well as independent distributors, including The Walt Disney Studios, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures (Wednesday), Warner Bros. Pictures (Thursday), Universal Pictures (Thursday), Roadshow Films, STUDIOCANAL, Rialto Distribution, Kismet Movies, and the Australian Independent Distributor Association.
Delegates were also treated to several key film screenings throughout the week.
The convention closed on Thursday evening with the AIMC Gala Dinner, in partnership with the Motion Picture Distributor Association of Australia.
