UNIC at CinemaCon 2026

UNIC was delighted to attend CinemaCon 2026, held in Las Vegas from 12 to 16 April.

The event opened with an expanded programme starting on Sunday, including the Independent Theatre Owners Coalition (ITOC) Annual Meeting. On the same day, UNIC participated in the Global Cinema Federation Executive Committee and Advisory Board meetings.

Monday introduced a new series of educational tracks focusing on audiences, food & beverage, and technology. UNIC CEO Laura Houlgatte moderated a session on the practical applications of artificial intelligence, joined by Brian Schultz (Look Cinemas), Marine Suttle (The Boxoffice Company), and Otto Turton (Vue International). The discussion explored how AI can support cinema operations and enhance audience engagement.

Also on Monday, UNIC and Film Expo Group (FEG) co-hosted a CineEurope reception at CinemaCon, bringing together industry colleagues to look ahead to the upcoming edition of CineEurope, taking place from 22–25 June 2026.

The CinemaCon Film Showcase followed, featuring presentations from Angel, Sony Pictures Classics, and STUDIOCANAL. Throughout the week, major studio presentations from Sony Pictures Entertainment, Warner Bros. Pictures, Universal Pictures, Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Pictures, and Walt Disney Studios highlighted a strong and diverse upcoming theatrical slate.

On Tuesday, UNIC attended “The State of the Industry,” featuring Michael O’Leary (Cinema United) and Charles Rivkin (Motion Picture Association), alongside a presentation from NEON. The Industry Think Tank, moderated by Matt Belloni (Puck), brought together Jerry Bruckheimer, Emma Thomas, and Michael O’Leary to discuss key challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

Throughout the week, UNIC met with partners and colleagues from across distribution and exhibition in a series of one-to-one meetings, as well as attending trade show sessions and roundtables.

UNIC warmly congratulates Cinema United and the CinemaCon team on delivering another excellent event. More information is available here.
